On Business Nightly

So I waited drowning in a bombardment of TV ads before the segment actually began. I was prepared to wait until 10PM for the clip, but thank goodness, it came in 9:13PM (ANC time). The clip didn't mention our names, but at least the "ADB study" was mentioned and quoted it at least twice. I mean, what could be better than interviewing Dr. Federico Macaranas himself about brain drain? He's THE expert on the topic. He is well quoted in our research, too. I couldn't have done -- not even slightly -- a better job than him!!! I'm not even a Ph.D. holder.

Anyway, so much said and excitement poured over my "30 minutes of fame"*, and I have to go back to reality now: a noble English teacher in the suburbs and still loving it. :)


*My fame totalled 30 minutes = talking and chatting with 3 friends and my sister about it. :)


Omigosh, I could have been on TV tonight!!

Following our report on ADB, I missed a call from an ABS-CBN guy. I returned his call and he was asking if I were available sana for an on-cam interview about the ADB report! Imagine?! Too bad I'm based in Laguna now that the ABS people couldn't make it due to time constraints. If I were in Manila right now, I could have had that on-cam interview!!! Major exposure! Hehehe. Even if it pushes through, I sure need to read my own research again to be able to say something. Heck I forgot what I wrote already! I mean, that was two years ago and many things have happened already in between!

Oh well, at least I know the report will be featured on TV tonight. :) I'll try to record it and post it here if I catch it. But if you catch it, record it for me. Hehe. :)

Do you have the BTW Virus?

I think I have the BTW virus or the "back to work" virus or Monday virus!!!

Symptoms: lethargy, colds, stress, sensation that time is running waaaaay too fast, loss of motivation, career crisis.

Cure: accept reality, pray, look forward to the trade on the 15th and 30th :), change how your desk looks, change your waking time to break routine, or change anything that will break your memory of a stressful work. :) Of course, do it for the greater glory of God. No less!!!
